THE PANDA RABBIT
I created @thepandarabbit world as an escape. One day I was bored and I said hey wouldn't it be great to just make an experimental film. I did that and ever since then it's allowed me to grow and teach myself different techniques. The film took an entire year to complete and is a mixture of live action, animation stop motion, and puppetry. I went to school for fine art but after giving myself the task to create a film I was able to teach myself costume design, editing and working a digital camera.
The Panda Rabbit is a bit awkward, ambiguous and very different. He represents those who feel like they don't fit in.
I did all the editing and rendering of the film at home.
While I was waiting for the frames to render
I would hand stitched dolls to kill time.
I was able to make 50 of them.
THE PANDA RABBIT CITY
This illustrated city is filled with pop icons that have inspired me. It also has people in my life that I have met that have been supportive in my work. The city took about 6 months to complete and is still a work in progress. I am always inspired and adding more to the city.It has a Where’s Waldo and The Sims feel to it. Both Where’s Waldo and The Sims have been things I loved when I was younger.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and growing up my mom would always take my sister and I to the movies. As I child I grew obsessed pop figures like actors and musicians.
Sophia and Monroe
are digital and acrylic paintings
I am currently working on.
It ties in with my love for icons.
No matter what you do to the image the faces of these people are still recognizable.
THE PANDA RABBIT GIRL
I love doing sketch studies.
"The Panda Rabbit Girl"
was inspired by those character actors on Hollywood Blvd.
They dress up as super heroes
play a role for tips.
Many times you can find them
smoking in the alley or just having
a blank stare.
When I was a kid I used to get so excited to see the characters.
Now it makes me feel sad.
Either way I am stilled entertained.
I LOVE STRUCTURE WITH CHAOS.
